Ways In Which The Government Is Attempting To Reform Health Insurance
Thursday, February 17th, 2011 by adminThe government is reforming healthcare in America. They are also cutting health care costs so those who are in need of private coverage will see a more affordable health insurance quote. The reforms are also making government health insurance available to more Americans who need it.
In March 2010, Congress passed the Affordable Health Care Act, and President Obama signed it into law. The new Act reforms health care by holding health insurance companies more accountable than they have been in the past, and giving people more health care choices. The Act also makes health care more affordable, brings health care quality to a higher standard, and gives Americans more control over their health care decisions. Government health care reforms will affect everyone in America, no matter what kind of coverage they have, be it government insurance, work insurance, insurance that is bought privately, and even those with no coverage at all.
The Act has already lowered health insurance costs by giving small businesses that provide their employees with insurance a tax credit. In 2014, the Act will lower health care costs even further by providing more tax credits to Americans who have been struggling to keep or get health insurance. The tax cut will mostly benefit the middle-class, and is projected to be the biggest health care tax cut for the class that was ever put into effect.
The reforms put into place by the ACT are expected to lower health care premiums for millions of families and small businesses across the United States. Lower premiums will help make health care coverage affordable to as many as 32 million Americans that currently have no health care coverage.
By reducing government spending, cutting waste and preventing fraud and abuse, the ACT will help stabilize our economy and budget. Over the next ten years, the deficit is estimated to lower by more than $100 billion and by more than $1 trillion, in the next twenty.
The new Act puts state Exchanges into place. That means health insurance companies are in direct competition with each other. The creative market will lower premiums, making it easier for Americans and small businesses to find an affordable health insurance quote. Moreover, Americans will be able to choose whichever company works best for them, and everyone will have the same choices.
The Act will put a stop to many of the loopholes insurance companies have been abusing. It will prevent denial of care, and end discrimination against those with preexistent conditions. As Americans begin to see Insurance companies provide a more affordable health insurance quote, insurance will become more accessible. Those who still cannot afford coverage will have the option to apply for government health insurance.
